Kananaskis Whitewater Festival Kananaskis Whitewater Festival When: Last weekend in May Where: Canoe Meadows, Kananaskis River What is a Whitewater Festival...? Quite Simply it's a gathering of Whitewater enthusiast's, for a weekend of total FUN. There is plenty of friendly competition in all sorts of events, including Hole Riding, Wave Surfing, Obstacle Course, Ball Race, Down River Race and much more. Theres also lot's going on off the water, Bar-B-Q, Big Party, Throwbag Toss, Music, Massage, Demo's, Auctions..... Oh there are always some surprizes....!! Who Can Come.? Anyone can come; the idea behind this weekend is to attract as many kayakers and caneists as possible, wether you are a novice or advanced whitewater paddlers. The weekend is structured such that you get a chance to paddle, with your "heros", "friends", "Better Halves" and meet many new paddlers. Last year we had 75% of all entrys where recreational or intermeadiate paddlers & probably 50% had never entered a festival before... Even if you are not paddling theres lots to do and see. As usual we will have the auctions on saturday night. It's your chance to pick up a bargin, weather it's a new pair of booties or the latest freestyle kayak. This year as well as several of the latest kayaks & Much More... This is a non for profit event 100% of money raised gets donated back to the Kananaskis River, through the Lower Kananaskis River Users Association.
