(www.warmrapidsinn.com) (no meals) Day 2: Paddling the Cowichan and Koksilah Rivers After breakfast we will set out to do a short warm up run on the Cowichan River (Class II/III), after lunch we will then head off and up the difficulty a little on the nearby Koksilah River. (b) Day 3: Paddle Chemanius River Today we will hit up another run in close proximity to the Inn, our first option is the Chemanius River. (b) Day 4: Drive to Uclulet, Surfing, and rainforest. After an early breakfast we will head west to our next destination, the coastal town of Uclulet. We will break up the 3.5 – 4 hour drive with a stop at Cathedral Grove rainforest. Upon arrival in Uclulet we will settle into our Bed and Breakfast digs before having an evening surf. (b) Day 5: Kayak Surfing A hearty breakfast will be the order of the day as we have as many hours as our arms can muster to surf one of the local breaks. We will have a fire going on the beach with hot chocolate for mid session warm ups. The evening can be spent trading ‘wipe out’ stories in the hot tub. (b) Day 6: Morning Kayak Surfing, evening drive to Courtney Some people may feel like just chilling out by the beach or taking the day easy, those with some energy left will head out for another surf session. After the mornings activity of choice we will drive approximately 3 hours North East to Courtney. (b) Day 7: Brown and Puntledge Rivers If the dam is releasing we will hit the Brown and Puntledge rivers for a day of classic Vancouver Island paddling and playboating. We will take our time hitting up the numerous rapids and playspots this run is famous for. If the dam is not releasing (there is no formal schedule), we will hit the classic Gold River. (b) Day 8: Paddling on the Brown/Puntledge or the Gold River Our final day of paddling, we will decide on the river as a group. If we ran the Puntledge the day before we will hit up the Gold, and vice versa. We will drive back to Victoria late in the afternoon, where we will check into our accommodation for the night prior to meeting for a final night farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (b)
