Western Canada Guided Whitewater Kayak Trip

This western tour will bring you to the Alberta border of the Rocky Mountains and through to the interior of British Columbia. This trip takes in a large amount of country and everything from small volume play runs to the super impressive medium volume runs of BC's rugged interior.

Itinerary
  • Day 1: You will be picked up from the airport (or hotel) and transfer to Mt Kidd Campground
  • Day 2: Today we will spend the day paddling the Kananaskis River, we will take the day to focus on skill development, from boat control to surfing and everything in between.
  • Day 3: Another day of paddling on the Kananaskis.  We will build on yesterdays skills and keep progressing both our river running and playboating skills. 
  • Day 4: We will depart Mt Kidd around 8 am en route to the Kicking Horse River in Golden, BC.  We will set up camp (basic camping), before spending the remainder of the day paddling the Class II/IV sections of this classic river.
  • Day 5: A morning run on the Kicking Horse River before taking the super scenic 6 hour drive to Clearwater, BC.
  • Day 6: Today we will spend the day paddling numerous sections of the Big Volume, super warm and super fun Clearwater River.  Huge wave trains, great playboating on such an amazing river.  Such an awesome contrast to the smaller volume, cold water paddling earlier in the trip
  • Day 7:  Another full day of paddling on the Clearwater River.
  • Day 8: Depending on how people feel we can do a super quick early morning blast down the Clearwater before the 9 hour drive home, or we can just head off
  • Day 9:  You will be dropped at the airport for your flight home.
Prerequisite
  • Moderate level of fitness
  • Sense of adventure
  • Solid roll and Good class III paddling skills
Notes
  • This trip can be arranged as a private departure anytime for groups of 2 or more.
  • Includes all transport, meals, gear, airport transfers
