Quick Start Plus

The Quick Start PLUS course is designed to give you the best of both world when it comes to recreational kayaking. It is an extension of the Quick Start course that develops moving water skills and knowledge as well as flat-water.

The course starts out on a Monday night as a traditional Quick Start Introduction, and then on the Tuesday night you will head to the Bow River for the moving water portion of the course. There is a strong emphasis on safe river running, identifying hazards and reading the river, as well and building and adapting the basic skills learned the night before. After an instruction session at Bowness Park the group will head out on a leisurely trip down to Shouldice park and enjoy the water right here in Calgary.
