Clipper Prospector 16 Kevlar Ultralight w/Black Trim

The 16' Clipper Prospector is one of a series of traditional-style Prospector canoes offered by Clipper Canoes.

The Prospector 16' is molded close to the lines of the 16' wood canvas Prospector formerly built by the Chestnut Canoe Co.

It is easy to paddle this canoe solo by using the front seat while facing the stern.

Seats are high enough for kneeling or an optional footbrace can be ordered.

Standard features are wood web seats.

Ultralight Kevlar® canoes are built without any exterior gelcoat, thus the hull has the ‘honey’ color of Kevlar®. The absence of gelcoat results in a weight savings of approximately 10%. The first layer is woven S-glass which is very abrasion resistant and is stronger under compression than Kevlar®. Two layers of Kevlar® are then applied with extra reinforcement in areas of high stress.
